MoPW introduces new online system to speed-up coordination with its stakeholders

To be accountable and transparent during the project stages, the Ministry of Public Works has established an online system to speed-up the coordination between the ministry and its stakeholders.

The new online digital system was introduced in a special gathering, which was attended by both parties; the officials of the Ministry of Public Works and the representatives of the construction companies.

This session was attended by Engineer Abdul Qayum Zazai, the Technical Deputy, M. Hamed Mohibi, the Finance & Administration Deputy, and Payenda Mohammad Anwari the Protection & Maintenance Deputy of MoPW.

Eng. Qayum Zazai, the Technical Deputy Minister said: the new leadership of MoPW is trying to provide better facilities for the private construction companies and stakeholders to boost up their mutual access to the particular units of the ministry.

“In the past, the execution of payment invoices was time-consuming which was causing many projects to be stopped. Now this new system will overthrow the obstacles of late payment and will lead the projects to be completed on time.” Mr. Zazai said.

He emphasized the necessity of better coordination between the ministry and the contracting companies and assured the stakeholders that they would be cooperated and dealt with following the law.

While briefing about the new system, Mohammad Hamed Mohibi, Deputy Minister of Finance and Administration of MoPW said: this system will strengthen the project management, timely follow-up of invoices, transparency in procurement processes, and the public access to information.

He added: after the construction companies become registered in the system, they will follow the whole progress that belongs to their projects and the updates from MoPW, online. This system will itself update the process of invoices’ execution and will no need to knock on the doors to follow-up their invoices.

Further, Mr. Mohibi assured that the new system will not only facilitate for the officials of companies but all sectors including donor parties, beneficiaries, and the MoPW.

"After this, the construction partner can share their problems, requests, and suggestions with us through the system, so that they can be resolved as soon as possible," he added.
