Survey & Land Acquisition of the second highway of Kabul-Jalalabad resumed

The Ministry of Public Works proclaimed that the survey and land acquisition process of the second highway road project between Kabul and Jalalabad have resumed on Sunday.
As the latest development, the Officials of MoPW appreciate the regional people and the provincial administration of Nangarhar for the promise of securing the second line of Kabul-Jalalabad road for the survey and acquisition process.
The survey and land acquisition of the second line of Kabul-Jalalabad road was stopped on April 25, 2021, after some security risks were felt in the area.
Now, after the commitment of the local government and the residents for preparing a safe atmosphere, the Ministry of Public Works has sent technical teams to Nangarhar for resuming the survey and land acquisition process of the remaining 85-kilometer portion of the highway.
Officials of the Ministry of Public Works expressed that they are fully prepared for the implementation of this project, and currently the only obstacle to the implementation of this project is the acquisition process.
It’s noteworthy that the ADB (Asian Development Bank) has allocated111 million US dollars for the Kabul-Jalalabad second road, which, after being surveyed and land acquisition, will be announced for bidding through the National Procurement Authority.
